Frank Portman (better known by the pseudonym Dr. Frank) is an American musician, singer, guitarist, and author. He is the singer, guitarist, and primary songwriter of the Berkeley, California, punk rock band The Mr. T Experience, and has remained the only consistent member of the band since its formation in 1985, performing on ten studio albums and five EPs. He has also recorded and performed as a solo artist, releasing the album Show Business is My Life in 1999 and the EP Eight Little Songs in 2003. In recent years he has pursued a writing career in young adult literature, authoring the novels King Dork (2006) and Andromeda Klein (2009).

James Dashner is the author of the children’s fantasy series The 13th Reality and theJimmy Fincher Saga. His novel The Journal Of Curious Letters was chosen for a 2008 Borders Original Voices. He has been published by Cedar Fort, Inc. and by Shadow Mountain Press, known for their popular children’s novels series Leven Thumps and Fablehaven. However, Delacorte, a division of Random House, is
planning to publish his new series, Maze Runner in Fall 2009.

Dashner’s series, The 13th Reality, is about a boy named Atticus Higginbottom who receives mysterious letters from a man named M.G. He has sent these letters to several other kids around the world because a thirteenth reality has appeared and is constructed with a mutated version of Chi’karda (the mysterious force that controls quantum physics). M.G.’s loyal assistant Mistress Jane betrays M.G. at the discovery
of this reality and tries to use the mutated Chi’karda to enslave the other realities and eventually the Prime reality.

James Dashner was born in Georgia and attended Brigham Young University. Dashner currently lives in West Valley City, Utah. He is married to Lynette Anderson, and they have two children, Bryson and Wesley. Dashner loves his family, reading, movies, and sports.
